A native of Virginia, Beth Allen started her career at the young age of 15 years old. That is when animals became more than just a side hobby to her. Her first job was a kennel technician/veterinary assistant in a local animal hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She then moved on to become an animal keeper and school program coordinator at a large animal park. Her work there brought a field of working with and studying the behaviors of large animals such as bison, elk, and even Black bears.
She had also started showing dogs at a young age, which gave her the opportunity to handle such breeds as Rhodesian Ridgebacks, German Shorthair Pointers, and Golden Retrievers.
She moved to Clermont County in 1989, and took a job at a local veterinary hospital as an assistant. After a few years, she became a manager at a large pet retail superstore, where she quickly fell in love with the aspect of training dogs. In 1995, Beth became a certified dog training instructor through APDT.
2004 became a year of breakthroughs for Beth. She endeavored to start her own business. “What A Good Puppy!”. After learning about animal nutrition and behavior problems, she felt the need to open a business that concentrated on the total well-being of dogs. She offers training, daycare, and premium quality pet foods supplies and accessories.
Beth is also a member of the American Pet Dog Trainers Association, and has recently been involved with training rescue dogs and also therapy dogs which visit retirement communities and hospital locations around the area.
Beth now resides in Clermont County and is owned (and loved by her 6 dogs — an Irish Wolfhound mix, Poodle Shih Tzu mix, 2 Great Pyrenees-Walker hound mixes, and her pride and joy Belgian Malinois which she assisted into our world one Christmas night, and now consequently into her life.
